Reminder: Importer Security Filing Prepardness Evaluation
November 20, 2008
In October 2006, U.S. Customs and Border Protection signed into law the Security and Accountability For Every Port Act (SAFE Port). It is expected that the specific requirements mandated under the ISF will be published shortly in the Federal Register. Currently, the Importer Security Filing (ISF) ruling only applies to ocean shipments that call a U.S. port directly. It is the importers responsibility to validate the accuracy of the data being reported in the ISF. Initially, shipments moving through a Canadian or Mexican port and trucked or railed to a final U.S. destination would not be affected.
To help assess your preparedness for the ISF ruling and data element requirements, please take a few moments to complete the following, brief evaluation (e.g, 10 multiple choice questions). If you are not the person responsible for supply chain management in your company, please forward to the appropriate individual.
If you have not already completed the evaluation, please click on the link below to participate.
